| By far the largest operator in the Luton & District area is Arriva the Shires with an operating area stretching from Essex to Oxfordshire. Despite the corporate nature of the company there are still a great many non-standard types in the fleet. This collection shows both the standard types and the not-so-common vehicles that could be seen in 2006.
During March the operations and vehicles of MK Metro were acquired with Arriva the Shires having managerial responsibility. This now brings together two former parts of United Counties, MK Metro originally being Milton Keynes Citybus, created in 1986 with the split of the company into three parts. |
